Breakfast at Biscuits Cafe
11.29.08. Michael and i went out for a rather late breakfast (at 1:30 in the afternoon) at Biscuits Cafe in Grapevine, a place we just discovered. The food was hearty and pretty good, but it was all just a bit bland for our tastes. None of it was particularly greasy, which you’d think would be a good thing…but perhaps that was it? At any rate, the place was nice, the service excellent, and food photographed well. Perhaps we will return to try other things on the menu.
Dinner at Cafe Medi
11.27.08. Alan and i went to great local restaurant, Cafe Medi on Grapevine Highway. If you haven’t tried it, do. It’s good food!

Thanksgiving 2008
11.27.08. We got together at Mom and Stan’s for Thanksgiving food, watching the ball game and playing with kids. Mom and Stan can cook!

Fountain at Southlake Town Square
11.22.08. Michael and i went out to dinner at first at Thai Chili (which was uber-yummy) and then went to Brio’s for dessert and drinks. It was a chilly fall evening and the trees were all decorated for the holidays. i took some pictures with my iphone and then played with them and made them black and white and all contrast-y after the fact. i am getting rather compulsive about this. But it’s fun!

2 Pictures from My Unit
11.16.08. On the spur of the moment, i decided to take a couple of pictures while at work. And, rather compulsively, i thought i’d share them here. So…here.
The Spankers at Jefferson Freedom Cafe
11.15.08. We went to hear the Asylum Street Spankers play at “Jefferson Freedom Cafe,” a monthly live music venue put on by First Jefferson Unitarian-Universalist Church in Fort Worth. This is the church where my Mom-in-law attended and played piano for years and where my husband and i got married. It was a treat to see the Spankers there, even if they were minus Christina, who is out on maternity leave. The show was even wackier than usual. We also got to hear Southpaw Jones, the opening act, for the first time and enjoyed him mightily. We took Nancy (Michael’s mom) and met up with Joel, Gina and little Miss Caitrin.

Red Hat Ladies
11.13.08. So, i went to pick up some take out from Chef Pointe (my favorite gourmet restaurant located in a gas station) and ran into another cultural oddity: a Red Hat Society meeting. They were rather impressive, taking up an entire large table all their own.
Fall Colors and My Canon Make Me Happy
11.13.08. In celebration of getting my camera back out of the shop, i took some pictures of the turning leaves on the tree in our front yard. i missed my camera!

TRF November 8th & 9th 2008
11.08-09.08. Michael and i attended faire and camped on the grounds of Texas Renaissance Festival. We were joined by Alan, Joel, Greg and Cindy (Happy Birthday Greg!) and got to meet Gina for the first time. Cecelia and Patrice came out on Saturday to shop. The soundtrack for the weekend was largely provided by Alan, though many of us contributed.
i am still working with either Michael’s Revel or my old Elph while my REAL camera is in the shop. There were some lighting and resolution problems, but i still managed to get some neat pictures anyway. Enjoy!

Day of the Dead Party
11.01.08. We were a day late for Halloween, so we had a Day of the Dead party. Guests were asked to come as a famous dead person, real or fictional. We got some interesting costumes and had a great time. What a bunch of weirdos!
