01.17.09. We may have a new tradition. This makes the second year running that we’ve gotten together to celebrate all the January birthdays in our circle of friends. i’m not sure why there are so many January babies among us…March isn’t THAT cold.

01.17.09. i babysat my sister’s kids last Saturday and took some pictures while they played outside.

01.14.09. i wanted to take pictures of my sister, as i don’t really have any good pictures of her. i would like to repeat the sitting later, when i’m a better photographer, as this one was instructive rather than productive. i discovered many things i DON’T know about shooting portraits and want to learn. Still, it was fun. i have a few shots to share. Bethany, i hope you like them.

01.01.09. Today, we went for a walk in a park near our house. It is a bit wild in places, with small animals audible, if not visible. They had a fire there one summer a couple of years ago, and the grass and trees in that area are alternately extra thick or still barren. Call me weird, but i’ve always liked winter sunshine and think the dead trees and grass are kinda cool looking.
